Gogo's are latest toy craze
as Kids go
mad on collections
August 08
A toy and games shop in Denton is setting
a new collecting craze among children for
a new toy created by a Catalonian family
and first sold in Spain in the mid 90s.
Gogo’s
Crazy Toys, which have been sweeping
playgrounds, have now hit the Manchester
area, and The Entertainer on Crown Point
North Shopping Park in Denton is working
hard to cater for the demand from its
young customers.
“Our swap sessions are already attracting
record crowds as Gogo’s become the
must have item,” explains Raychel
Higgs from the store.
“We are selling more than 20,000 packets of Gogo’s at our 40 stores
throughout the UK every week, but no one really knows why they have become
so popular.”
What are they? The toys, sold in 99p packets
containing three figures and some stickers,
are used to play simple games such as throwing
the figures up in the air and counting
how many land on their feet.
Raychel adds: “Like the popular Match
Attax football cards, the real attraction
is collecting and swapping them. There
are 80 characters in five colours to collect
- 400 ordinary Gogo’s in total. In
addition there are five rare figures, which
are an incentive for children to keep on
collecting.”
